Overview
Velx supports Bring Your Own LLM integration through Velx Explorer, enabling enterprises to connect their own externally managed language models into the Velx modernization workflow. Rather than fine-tuning models on proprietary codebases, Velx focuses on secure model connectivity and orchestration. This approach allows organizations to retain full control over model hosting, training, configuration, and data governance while leveraging Velx capabilities for analysis, planning, and transformation.
Model integration is powered by LiteLLM, which provides a standardized interface layer for connecting diverse LLM providers and self-hosted endpoints.

Custom Distillers
Overview
Velx supports the creation of Custom Distillers to extend the platform’s analysis capabilities and generate reports tailored to the specific needs of each organization. Custom Distillers are specialized analysis modules developed by Velx forward-deployed engineering teams to extract targeted insights from a client’s codebase, architecture artifacts, and repository metadata.
Rather than relying solely on preconfigured analysis templates, Custom Distillers allow enterprises to define domain-specific rules, metrics, and reporting structures aligned with their internal standards, modernization goals, or governance requirements. This enables organizations to produce highly customized technical assessments, risk analyses, and modernization insights directly within the Velx Explorer workflow.
